The dirty dozen and the clean fifteen are lists published by the Environmental Working Group. The idea is to guide shoppers on pesticides in produce. The dirty dozen is a list of which produce tested for the highest levels of pesticide, while the clean fifteen is produce that tested for low to no levels of pesticides. Keep in mind though, that all of these levels, regardless of which list they are on, are significantly below the FDA requirements.
